Xelius EFI

EFI technology, a major innovation developed in 2013 that has really revolutionised Lapierre carbon frame builds since then, divides the frame into two areas:

►The Power Box: oversized chainstays, bottom bracket shell, down tube and head tube for maximum rigidity and, therefore, 100% transfer of pedal power.

►The absorption zone: seatstays, seat tube, top tube and fork designed to absorb little bumps and vibrations for maximum control and precision: the shape and thickness of each, as well as the type and orientation of its component fibres have been determined to offer the desired flexibility and reactivity.

Power Box technology gives the frame excellent rigidity in the head tube, bottom bracket shell and rear triangle. This exceptional rigidity, unique to the Xelius EFI, enables you to save 4 % of your energy from identical performances, compared with the previous Xelius. The aerodynamic performances of the Xelius EFI have also been tested and approved by Team FDJ.fr riders. Capable of releasing all your pedal power, the Xelius EFI turns every calorie you expend into km/h, making it your weapon of choice for your training or competition rides.

2015 XELIUS EFI frame features:

  • F40 100% monocoque carbon front triangle: mixture of VHM (very high-modulus) fibres (40 %) with HM (high-modulus) and HR (high-resistance) fibres, for greater rigidity and reduced weight

  • 1,050 g in size 55

  • 100%-carbon Lapierre fork: semi-integrated brakes version (350 g) or normal version (330 g)

  • 1”1/8 to 1”1/4 aerodynamic conical head tube with integrated carbon cups

  • 100% carbon rear fork ends

  • Press-fit bottom bracket shell

  • Internal cable routing (compatible with electronic groupsets)
